Percussion and Drum Kit
About
George Jones is a percussionist and drummer based in London. With extensive experience performing with symphony orchestras, big bands, and touring productions, George is now returning to professional freelance work after three years as Director of Music at a leading prep school.
His past work includes deputy roles in touring and West End productions such as The Lion King, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and Heathers, and performances with ensembles ranging from symphony orchestras to contemporary chamber groups. He is equally at home on tuned percussion, orchestral instruments, and drum kit.
George read music at the University of Bristol before completing postgraduate studies in orchestral percussion and drum kit performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (MMus, PGAD). He was awarded the conservatoire’s Percussion Prize and supported in his studies as a Trinity College Scholar.
