About
George Jones is a professional percussionist and drummer based near London. He has interests in a wide range of music and regularly performs with symphony orchestras, big bands and chamber ensembles across the country. George particularly enjoys playing for the theatre and is called on as a deputy for shows in London and on national tours including The Lion King and Bedknobs and Broomsticks.
George read music at the University of Bristol before undertaking postgraduate studies in orchestral percussion and drum kit performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (MMus, PGAD). He was delighted to be supported in his studies as a 'Trinity College Scholar' and to be the recipient of the conservatoire's percussion prize (2015).
Teaching
George has extensive experience as a classroom music teacher and visiting teacher of percussion and drum kit in schools in London, Surrey, and Berkshire.
George has also worked with ensembles such as youth orchestras and choirs and lead workshops and massed rehearsals.
George is the Director of Music at St John's Beaumont School in Old Windsor.
